About The Artwork
I am inspired by the work of Van Gogh to go out into the fields and paint. This is a plein air painting I did on site as the peony blossoms were beginning to end, I felt I had to get out and paint them as they were beginning to drop their petals. Curiously a man approached wanting to come between me and the peonies to smell the peonies and I had to ask him to go and find his own peonies. I wonder what Van Gogh did.
