The Drift Painting

The Drift is a large bold red brutalist minimalist style artwork. Typical of this style, there is no hint at the size of the overall shape of the subject matter. Extra attention to detail has been taken here in preparing the canvas so that the painting is as flat as possible with no weave of the canvas. The painting has been continued over onto the sides which adds another dimension to the artwork, and also means it does not need to be framed. I have signed the painting and finished it off with several layers of matte varnish to highlight the colours, and to protect the painting. A handy way of determining just how this sized painting will work in your space is to use blue tack dots or masking tape on your wall to plot out the border of the painting.
