'Symmetry, Fun and Spontaneity' Painting

I have always tried to manage to find a relationship in my artworks between the elements of line, balance, contrast, color and structure. These elements in a composition can strive to demonstrate harmony, rest, order, perfection, a tight structure or framework and at the same moment reflect a free-flowing action of colors that radiate a sense of movement, emotionality, spontaneity and unpredictability. It is in this composition, that I intended to construct a gird pattern or symmetrical design that defines the landscape on the surface of this artwork. It is in the controlled lines and constructed geometric format where I encourage a world of colors and textured mat medium surfaces to flow through the linear design. Primarily emphasizing swimming mixed colors meandering through the spaces and sometimes gushing over the edge to express a drip or a run of color that overlaps the black grid design to create the polarity of fixed borders that at any point can be breached by spontaneous color formations.
