A small delft vase of proteas and eucalyptus sprigs against a red background. This is a portrait of some flowers my lovely husband bought me as a surprise recently. I love the velvety texture of proteas, and the way they retain their strange beauty through all of the stages of their lives, and deaths. Inspired by the beautiful work of Hockney and Matisse Mixed Media - Crayon, Acrylic and Gouache on Wooden Board with a 7/8" cradle.
