About The Artwork
After painting a series of three "landscape quilts" inspired by aerial photos, I decided to do the same for a field of flowers. I tried to imagine what a thick profusion of flowers would look like from above. The paint application is a bit different here, much thicker than in the landscape quilts with layers of bright orange thin collage papers as the background coming through the greens and pinks and reds. I would like the viewer to experience the burst of color that comes with the spring.
