He works in a variety of media, including sculptures in the shape of shoes, paintings that combine relief and canvas that resemble a deformed frame, and other forms of expression. His subject matter explores the dichotomies of consciousness and unconsciousness, masculine and feminine principles, stability and instability, chaos and harmony, materialism and nihilism. Through his art, he seeks to navigate the extremes of these opposites and discover the inherent stability that lies between them. Hamu Isen's artistic expression contemplates the complex interplay of contrasting forces and invites the viewer to find harmony in the complexity of existence.

Japan
In 2009, Hamu Isen invented a unique technique of mixing acrylic paint and clay, fixing it directly to the support by hand or with a spatula, and finally scraping off the surface. The unique feature of this technique is that the surface is scraped off after the paint is fixed. In other words, the color and shape of the painting is not known until it is scraped off. With this technique, he creates a state where the conscious and unconscious intersect. He is interested in the boundaries between paternity and maternity, order and chaos, consciousness and unconsciousness, artificial and natural. He also uses these comparisons to explore Japan's unique culture and identity. He often creates abstract forms using the silver ratio and golden ratio and is often inspired by motifs related to Japanese culture ( Shimenawa-Rope, Snake, Lightning, Nature, etc.).
