I wanted a little humour in my work and had this in mind when I painted Going going gone and Steak and chips which had a lot of interest and brought a smile to people so I have decided to continue until this madness is over. We Thais like to order a lot of food and share the dishes, I went into a restaurant with my daughter and they had social distancing in place with 2 people to a table sitting opposite each other with a dividing screen down the middle of the table. We ordered our food but it was very difficult to share as we normally would with this screen between us, I thought this would make a great painting in my Social Distancing Series. My paintings hang in private and public collection round the world. Including some iconic places like; Amsterdam, Bangkok, Berlin, Chicago, Copenhagen, Dubai, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hamburg, Hong Kong, London, Munich, Monte Carlo, Malibu Beach, Monaco, New York, Nice, Paris, Rome, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Zurich & Taiwan. Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
