Seriously, I can be infatuated with—besotted by—a brush stroke, a color combination, a composition, or scale. A precious little Giorgio Morandi can be as alluring as an enormous Joan Mitchell. When I'm face-to-face with a painting that I've longed to see, I literally feel the power of the artist's energy as if it were with me at that moment.
