Let me present you a number of oil sketches form the “Hot Summer” series. To the contrary with most of my other works that often have some hidden meanings and stories behind them, the “Hot Summer” paintings are exactly about what you see: summer, sun, relaxation, seaside vacations, and of course beautiful women.

About The Artwork

Delving into the canvas of "Sketch - IV" by Alexander Levich, we are met with a tableau that is rich in narrative and alive with emotional subtlety. The figure within the scene is at once an anchor and a voyager, her form captured with a graceful economy of line and color that belies a deeper story. Levich's adept use of light and shadow creates a three-dimensional illusion, granting the figure a lifelike presence on the flat surface of the canvas. The warm, natural tones of the artwork evoke a sense of place that is distinctly coastal, with an air of untouched purity. The fine balance between detail and abstraction lends a timeless quality to the painting, allowing the viewer to explore the space between what is seen and what is felt. Levich's portrayal transcends the simplicity of its subject, inviting a contemplative engagement with the work, as the subject herself seems to ponder the unseen horizon.

What is the most important thing in life? It's not the external surroundings but our inner world. Painting serves as the key that unlocks this realm. By following this path, one learns not just to look, but to truly SEE. Through my art, I delve into profound content. Painting becomes a medium of communication, a canvas for thoughts. The questions are always deeper than the answers, and the answers are discoveries we make within ourselves. My paintings serve as guides, leading you along the pathways of your own thoughts. I aim to offer you the joy of connecting with your inner world, the luxury of harmony and solitude in communication with yourself. I was born in 1963 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in 1987, I graduated from the painting faculty of the Kyiv Art Academy, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Lopukhov. Since 1990, I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, my artistic journey can be divided into two main periods. The first period, which spanned over 20 years after my graduation, can be described as "Metarealism." The second period, which I refer to as my "return to realism," began around 2010, you may explore my artworks from both periods showcased here. If you would like to delve deeper into my portfolio, view additional paintings beyond those displayed on this website, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at a.levich@protonmail.com. You are also warmly welcome to visit my studio in Kyiv. Thank you sincerely for your interest.
