Another one in silk series!

Silk derives its name from the famous 'silkworms' who make the thread while weaving their cocoons.

I have always loved silk, for many reasons but this one takes the prize! It's amazing how something so tiny can produce something so valuable, something which is soft yet strong and fine yet lustrous.

But it's toiling process of months to produce even a single strand. If u think of it, this principle can be applicable to almost anything in life!

It's a slow process to produce anything beautiful in life, layered with several staged complexities and almost always involving many tireless consistent toiling processes along the way!
I hope that as silk deflects light and shows you something beautiful and different at differing times, you could also look back at anything life has throw or will surely continue to throw at you and find how that led to something, just anything, beautiful for you! How that may have made you soft yet strong and helped find a light in you that makes you lustrous in your own fine way! :)

(CURRENTLY NOT FOR SALE. This is currently on rental. Please get in touch if you would like to buy this artwork.)

Why Passionista??? When I thought (read “day dreamt”) about the name years ago, “Passionista” sprung to my mind. I had to google the word to even confirm if it exists. True story! To my surprise, it defined me & has ever since resonated with me more than any other word! The symbol “Infinity” ♾ represents the infinite possibilities this life has to offer. It’s up to us what we choose and how we course-correct ourselves with all the curve balls! So against all odds, with nothing but Passion towards art, this is one of the baby steps along my journey. Miles to go before I sleep! I am a lawyer by profession but an artist at heart. I have always been drawn towards creativity and love expressing myself through colours and writing. I have never had any formal training or never studied art. I wish I could pursue Art as a career in its own right. But until then, as long as I continue to paint and inspire even one person in the process, I would be very happy. I started painting as a little kid In India and did numerous paintings on several mediums. However, I could never pursue it professionally. I decided not to let the innate creative flair in me fade away in the rigmaroles of life and the demanding profession. Each painting is created with lots of passion, love, high quality professional materials and textures. They express either a thought, a state of mind or an emotion, but always open to more interpretations. I love playing with textures to create a bit of tangible 3D dimension to the painting. I also often accompany my paintings with some words which adds that extra bit intangible dimension to the piece. Examples of that can be seen here and on my Instagram page by the same name. I have had a few exhibitions and one of my favorite pieces is now placed at the London headquarters of one of the Big4s. I'd be happy to take commissions and work with you to understand your requirements. Please leave a comment or ask any questions. Given the Covid situation in India, I have decided to fundraise by donating 50% of proceeds of my paintings for charities in India to help families affected by Covid. This was always on the roadmap for Passionista Art but there is no better time than NOW! I would love to be able to donate 100% but the remaining 50% will go towards covering my basic material costs and delivery and packaging costs. Especially for bigger and framed canvases and for international deliveries.
