About The Artwork
The acrylic painting "Siegfried X" is inspired by the opera Siegfried, which is the third of the four music dramas that constitute Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung), by Richard Wagner. It shows an abstract version of Siegfried passing through the ring of fire to kiss Brünnhilde and wake her from her magic sleep. The painting features some doctor knife technique, known from artists like Gerhard Richter, some spray paint and some brushed stuff.
