This round oil and acrylic painting on wood is chiseled in to to reveal the substrate. The work is informed by the Romantic landscape painting tradition filtered through contemporary painting and Japanese Buddhist aesthetic principles. It hangs on a french cleat for simple installation. This was sort of a breakthrough painting for me.
