About The Artwork
This picture was conceived in November 2019, well before the pandemic. I was inspired by Dürer's self-portrait in elegant gray gloves and thought about what gloves would represent my time. The answer was not long in coming. In fact, this self-portrait is not accidental. I look into this old mirror every day when I wash my brushes. The painting is framed in a beautiful frame, specially made for it according to my sketch, following the pattern of old Dutch frames.
