San Francisco Painting

India ink on cartridge paper. San Francisco cityscape. This is an ink sketch on light cartridge paper, so the paper is gently buckled. This is to be expected with an ink sketch. For framing, I suggest that this type of sketch is subtly float mounted (rather than window mounted). My subject is the constructed human environment. I am interested in how collective and individual desires influence the form of mass produced environments and structures. I attempt to uncover patterns in the built world that reveal the human context. My practice uses observation and drawing, to develop a personal way of seeing, understanding, and ultimately a reconfiguration of complex environments.
