About The Artwork
The "Portrait of Maria Vileda Rossi" was inspired by my wife Marisa (Maria) and her smile. At the beginning of 2000, the opera depicted a doll in the same position: recently, I decided (or perhaps the work itself decided) to portray Mary. The work was done in great secrecy for her, we only knew myself and my little daughters Benedetta and Renata.
