I absolutely love raku-fired pottery. Since I don’t own a kiln, nor am I a pottery artist, trying to capture the essence of them in a painting was my goal. Each of the three paintings are on 18” x 24" x 1.5" museum quality gallery wrapped canvas. Raku means "enjoyment", "comfort" or "ease" in Japanese. I used steel grey, black and white colored acrylic paint only, mixing them to achieve an elegant color and feeling. The texture is created with acrylic mediums.
