About The Artwork
This atmospheric painting is inspired by the seascape study of the same name by John Constable from the 1820s. I borrow his dramatic foreground gesture here, but insert a wood board fabricated from a fallen tree in lieu of the brushstrokes. Further riffing, I've taken the atmospheric luminosity of an early evening at a beach in North Florida.
