About The Artwork

I paint now with ecofriendly materials and this one is painted on clay-plaster with egg-tempera. I also use pastels when sketching.. To mix the clayplaster I use clay and sand from neighbour village, plus some bulrush seeds and biochar from my own backyard. It is rewarding to make art with natural materials, and biochar itself is also a carbonsink. The life was born in a puddle of clay on early earth from carbon, water and some other elementals. These painting on clay represent the life itself with some posthuman aspect. I think that life will go on,despite the people. The ground for clayplaster is porous woodfibre-board.There is no hanging loops on teh back. You can put this artpiece on shelf or have framings done.

COLLECTIONS: Turku City Art collection Private collections PUBLIC ART: Kainua Hospital / Bioart-installation Town of Vantaa / Mural Lahti Malva-Museum / Soundart-installation Aboa vetus&Ars Nova / Museum of Contemporary Art Turku University: Department of Physics Housing Company Metsola Skanska Construction WORK: Nature is inspiration for me - powers and creatures of it. When studying in Art-Academy I did my written thesis about art and science, and this theme follows me. To me - mathematical shapes and lines, notations, reflections of molecules - represent the invisible world like time, energy, matter, gravity. Things and art-forms like various perspectives, cubism, transparency, egological materials, light-, bio- and soundart interests me. In paintings I like to create upcoming shadows and unexpected compinations.
