This painting was inspired by Melbourne artist, David Keith Milne, who paints only geometric shapes and alchemy symbols. Watching him work in his studio, most of the days and well into the nights made me realize that he and his art were one entity. That it was his whole life. This portrait depicts him as the personification of his art, composed of geometric shapes and and alchemy symbols, as appear in all his works. "David K.Milne is acknowledged as the ‘Contemporary Alchemist’, drawing on the symbology of early 17th century alchemy to provoke thought of the impact of technological advancement on our planet."
