About The Artwork
Artistic details: The painting is an homage to David Hockney and Edward Hopper. I liked the idea to create a contemporary poolside scene referring to David Hockney’s paintings and, too, give it a touch of Edward Hoppers city tales. To me it shows subtle hidden humor to place the human figure in a comfortable beachside scene instead of the anonymous city situations like Hopper did. Still we have the vacant space we know from Edward Hoppers paintings where one doesn’t really know if it’s more aloneness or loneliness which we see. Technical Details: Painted with acrylic colors. The edges are painted, too. No framing needed.
