About The Artwork
My husband arrived home recently with a gift of a small bouquet of tightly closed buds, I knew they would open into lilies but further than that, they were pretty secretive about their intentions. I popped them into a simple, small glass vase and left them to their own devices. For days they napped stubbornly, refusing to offer even the smallest hint, and then suddenly they exploded into gigantic pink blooms, perfuming the house with their heavenly scent. I have been painting them obsessively ever since.
