This work was inspired by my experience after taking part in a residency in Sarria, north western Spain. Sarria is on the Comino de Santiago pilgrimage trail.
There is so much history and so many stories I was overwhelmed with impressions from this incredible historic area.
My style of work allows a fluid transition from one scenario to another giving the viewer snapshots of my experience and at the same time invoking the sense of drama that this area would have experienced over the last 1100 years.

This painting artwork is framed and mounted on wood. The frame is a black and white frame as depicted in the extra images.

Marc Rayner Born 1959 in Wollongong, N.S.W, Australia. Currently lives and works in central Sweden. The integration of quasi architectural and natural landscapes forms the spine of my social, historical and political commentary. Neoexpressionism is my sphere of operation. It suits my temperament. The Neoexpressionist genre also accurately reflects the distorted paradigm in which we live.
