I have long wanted to paint a physalis, apparently I wanted it so much that I came across a clearing of these lanterns in the illuminated area between the houses. As soon as I saw a scattering of these wonderful lights, I immediately took a few and started drawing them the next day. The still life came together right away, it was clear which vase would suit them best. It’s a pleasure to mix such bright, hot colors on canvas on a winter day. It was real expression! The work was in full swing, I felt like inspiration wouldn’t let me go, until I was completely tired and stopped. This picture is symbolic, because physalis brings love, temptation, passion and reward for effort. I hope my artistic work will bring love, positive emotions and joy to your home.

Hello! My name is Oksana Gaidayenko, and I am a painter. Since childhood, I've had a passion for drawing, attending art studios, and sketching constantly. My early art education laid the foundation for a career in interior design, where I seamlessly blend style, color, light, and space, often translating ideas into quick sketches during meetings. My artistic approach has resonated with those with a keen sense of taste, and my ability to communicate ideas through sketches has made interactions clear and enjoyable. Two years ago, I followed my heart and enrolled in an art academy, pursuing a second degree. I revel in creating without limitations, experimenting with various techniques, and gaining valuable insights from professional instructors. Inspiration surrounds me, from the morning purring of my cat to the cup of coffee, diverse weather, strolls, and travels. I capture these moments through photography and translate them into artworks. Frequently participating in plein air sessions, I find that challenging and unpredictable weather enhances the dynamism and expressiveness of my oil paintings. My style is akin to Impressionism, allowing me to convey the essence of the scene with bold strokes and vibrant color mixing. Currently residing and working in Kyiv, I'm captivated by the city's beauty, especially the river dividing it into the right and left banks. My daily views of landmarks like Lavra and Sofia overflow me with emotions, emphasizing the importance of preserving these sacred places. My greatest inspiration comes from the people of Ukraine—dedicated soldiers, tireless volunteers, and those who have endured occupation and loss. I aspire to create a series of paintings depicting the strength and courage of these remarkable individuals. I hope viewers will feel a connection to the stories behind the artworks, reflecting on the resilience and spirit of the subjects. In choosing my medium, subject matter, and style, I aim to capture the raw beauty of everyday life, infuse emotion into my artwork, and pay homage to the strength of the human spirit.
