Me and my 254 ancestors. It is said that each of us carries the inner and outer qualities of up to seven generations. That makes 254 people - 127 men, which I represent as blue drops, and 127 women, represented by red drops, live on in their descendants. It is always a woman and a man who join together to give life to the next generation. Often we hear remarks like our gait is like our father's or we have our mother's eyes or hair, like grandma.... These are the outward signs, but beyond that there is much that lies dormant within us that is not so obvious, and that is what makes us the person we are. Our ancestors influence our character, even if we didn't know them and at best know about their lives from stories. And their parents and grandparents are also in them and therefore in us. So we don't have to be surprised that we are the way we are. Just as the influence of the ancestors diminishes from generation to generation, the colours also fade upwards. Nevertheless, there is more in us from individual persons from earlier times than we know, which is indicated by the somewhat stronger colouring. Sometimes we even have to come to terms with experiences or traumas that we did not experience, that we do not even know about, but that are still in us. All this shapes our personality just as much as our own experiences and life circumstances.

Krisztina Dózsa-Farkas was born in 1975 in Budapest, Hungary, and studied at the University of Art and Design (MOME today). She has been living and working as a graphic designer and freelance artist in Munich since 2001. The artist describes herself as an artistic illusionist, using concrete and specific shapes and lines. Her paintings are brought to life by the viewers personal thoughts and feelings. A range of harmonious colours and the pursuit of perfection determine the compositions. The process imvolves painting and repainting the forms as many times as necessary to reach this perfect harmony of colours and shades, wich means the paintings have several layers. Her shapes and forms suggest directions and relationships, giving a certain depth to her pictures. The colours are dominant and a means of emotional contact with the viewer. The forms are addressed to the imagination and the intellect. Together they create a vortex that gives the viewer emotional experience as well as a decorative painting. Each image is unique and hand-painted. „My main motivation is to encourage the recognition of the message of the painting despite maximum abstraction. My pictures give freedom to people to identify different contexts, which everyone does in their own way – out of experience. József Egry (hungarian artist) once said ‚From an artistic point of view it is not important what we see but what the thing that we see lets us see‘ and I am inspired by this.“
