About The Artwork
Paper Whites are a great way for people who live in the far North like I do to bring a big of green and spring to the long winters. I've received paper white bulbs for many Christmases in a row as presents, and I set them in my kitchen window to grow and bloom in January. I decided to do a detailed study of this year's crop, setting them on a distant and open black background, concentrating all the energy and attention to the unique flowers and stems and buds. The work is a burst of white and green in an otherwise empty space and it does great justice to the feeling these bulbs give every year in the darkest months.
