About The Artwork
To the basic structure of the four previous paintings, in the series, stripes were added. The purpose was to impose visual weight. I wanted to ground the painting in visual space. This was done in an effort to enhance it's qualities as an object. These qualities include a hand painted texture and edges. My hope is that the painting will enhance the viewers sense of being in the now.
