In the late 1950’s my grandfather designed these abstract horses and named them ’Orses’. His version was made out of wood and laid out on a framed wood panel. I recently found his pattern and wanted to honor him by using his original pattern. I used acrylic paints and mediums similar to my other raku style work. I spent many hours with him as a child in his woodshop and I know it is where I got my love for making things with my hands. Each of the paintings are on 12” x 24” x 1.5” museum quality gallery wrapped canvas. They are framed in a modern walnut wood “floating frame” (frames are 13” x 25”). They are wired and ready to hang.
