About The Artwork
Mounted, will be flat packed, requires framing by the buyer. This piece is mounted on an archival mount ready for framing, a UV protective glass would be the best option. It is made with hand mixed gouache on archival Japanese paper using gestural brush marks to create a sense of space. The title refers to the sand storms carrying Saharan sand over London which have increased in frequency with climate change. The pigments used in the painting have their own internal symbolism for me. Ochres signifying the universal, the human, and indigo symbolising the history of trade.
