About The Artwork
No Sense of Direction is a 30cm x 30cm abstract painting using overlapping shapes in shades of blue and turquoise. Samuel wanted to experiment with angular forms over his signature textured background. While the lines are not perfect (owed to the clay, pumice paste and gels applied to the surface of the canvas), Samuel took this design as an opportunity to break free from the perfectionist mould he lives in! He has used one of his favourite colour palettes to express how you can create depth and dimension using shape and texture. No Sense of Direction is named because of the random location Samuel has layered the shapes. It looks as if they are pointing in several directions. The painting is signed on the back by Samuel.
