NITCHIBOTSU is series of artworks inspired with my stay in Japan this winter, new hope, new beginning after three years of absence from Japan. The series is painted in my recognizable technique that reminds to aquarelle but it is oil on canvas. It was period of celebrations, Christmas, New Years Eve, but also solstice. In 4th century Romans placed date of birth of Jesus 25 December that was celebrated until than according to Pagans as the day of the God of the Sun. NITCHIBOTSU means SUN in Japanese.
