About The Artwork

The project was inspired by the work "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare where the fabulous atmospheres of the vegetative place are intertwined with the stories of human, mythological and magical beings. I tried to internalize the sensations received during the study of the text to develop a gesture to express in the performative dimension, frozen by photographic shots and then translated into drawings and paintings. The titles of the works recall some of the original verses of the Shakespearean work.

I live and work between Padua and Venice. The direction of my research winds through the anthropological analysis of human relationships and social interactions between genders, investigating their traditional and contemporary behavioral models. At the same time it develops into a binary line pertaining to the intimate sphere of personal identity, through the observation of the body in its form and its relationship with the surrounding spaces. In my work I use various media, painting on canvas and paper, drawing, collage, engraving techniques, photography and digital graphics. I photograph my work creating a documentation of the creative process, I set up my research materials by creating imaginary rooms, containers for experimentation and study. A conspicuous corpus of photographic images constitutes my visual research which I constantly update and from which I draw references to represent my subjects. These are images retrieved from internet, from books, newspapers, magazines or from my photographs often taken on a set where I take care of all the details and stage the image that has visited me.
