About The Artwork

The darkness of the night engulfs us all. In the night we dream, we contemplate, we feel. That is the feeling of this painting how we are at the darkest part of the night. This work is a counterpoint to Weltschmerz work and can be seen together or separatly. BBC article defines; natsukashii – which derives from the verb “natsuku”, which means “to keep close and become fond of” – indicates joy and gratitude for the past rather than a desire to return to it. In Japan, natsukashii is a reminder that you are fortunate to have had the experiences you’ve had in life. The fact that you cannot return to those experiences makes them all the more poignant. Some of the paint is UV reactive and can be hung under a blacklight, while it also have some metallic paint as well. The painting is signed on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity. ***This painting is not stretched and can be hung without being stretched, therefore it is shipped in a tube.
