This artwork featured in my recent Solo Exhibiton, ‘Adornments of Fancy’ at The Royal Standard in Liverpool. Begin without any concept of what may come to be, forms are allowed to emerge and then substantiated to varying degrees in line with how I intuitively respond to the obstacles within the painting. This work deals with memory as it’s main subject matter and features a bountiful array of different areas or ‘zones’ in which may be found abstract bodily forms, faces, suggestions of flora and minimal mark making that lend themselves to viewer interrogation and interpretation.
