Moonlight's Fingers is an abstract surreal painting of an expression of how the moonlight moves the sky and allows the clouds to play in and around it. The Prussian-rich blue sky changes as the light creates shadows around the clouds. The grey moon cuddles beneath them and peeks through with its light, lighting up the rough deserted sands on the ground. The soft silence of the big rising sky playing with space and the clouds under the moonlight in the badlands of Alberta felt like this to me when I first saw a full moon on a cloudy day there. The textures of the hoodoos shimmered with the light and the view brought a cooling sensation on my skin which was under bright sun all day. A sense of peace was evoked with that cooling wonder. It made me want to pick up all of Georgia O'Keefes art books and look through all the awesome art she ever painted. Inspired by the way she translated space with form, I wanted to express what I felt during my stay in the Badlands. I have lived in Alberta for a few years now and every time I go hiking in the badlands of the province, I am left with wanders of inspiration of space, time, the universe and crispy cold warm Prussian heat. This painting is ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
