About The Artwork

Since ancient times in Korea, people have made wishes while gazing at the full moon during the New Year. This tradition stems from the belief that it brings prosperity, peace to the village, and serves as a protective charm against all diseases and misfortunes. The peaceful image, adorned with various colors, symbolizes strength, tranquility, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow. The moon I first loved was the crescent moon. It looked sharp, like trimmed fingernails, as if it wanted to protect itself. Like me, with many shortcomings... The reason I came to love the full moon was on a cold winter day when snow piled up on tree branches, covering them delicately, and I saw how the snow glistened in the moonlight. The light of that snow seemed as sparkling as jewels. The moon, now fully filled, seemed to illuminate someone else with its entire being, as if saying, "You can fill yourself up like me. Shine brightly." The moon seemed to speak to me in this way. And so, I began to paint the picture of the moonlight seeping into the trees. Perhaps even now, I might still be a crescent or a half moon. I want to fill myself up and be a light for someone.

https://www.instagram.com/artistzinna/ Zinna Yoo’s Painting Artist Note The artist's works are inspired by nature, which holds infinite possibility, hope, and comfort. The modern human brain is busy all day long. Devices exist even between people, and new infectious diseases constantly emerge, plunging people's minds into anxiety and fear. The purpose of the artist's work is to provide a moment of escape, a chance to forget everything else and find peace, and to serve as a source of motivation to keep moving forward. The atmosphere conveyed in the artwork is one of tranquility, seeking comfort and solace within stillness. The various color tones serve as a special means. to convey a sense of freedom and vibrant energy. The artist has reinterpreted the romantic landscapes of Eastern painting in a modern way, using various colors, straight lines, and curves to express the passage of time and provide a sense of dignity, safety, and infinite possibility to those feeling exhausted by the harsh realities of life. The artist's signature style is characterized by the flowing texture of the tree's bark, the universe like appearance of the sky drenched in water, and the three- dimensional effect of the leaves, which seem to be realistically placed on the canvas. The subtle adjustments in paint density and the masterful application of brushstrokes create a sense of movement and depth, inviting the viewer to fully immerse themselves in the artwork.
