This painting is part of a number of ongoing works that I call my 'Strata' series. It focuses primarily on colour interactions and tonal associations in a loose grid that also provides some structure and visual order. Painted in acrylic on 3mm / 1/4inch this artwork is supplied ready to hang in a 5cm /2inch deep limed-timber shadow edge frame. This artwork generates an emotive response from to the deliberately considered colour combinations and placement of elements, and the combination of structured and loose brushwork.
