About The Artwork
This is a work inspired by Melinda's cluttered and vibrant front porch that I would pass each day on my way to my studio. When I knocked on the door wanting to meet Melinda, it turns out she is every bit as fun and wild as her porch.I learned that each plant is named after the person who gave it to her and she in fact calls them all her babies as she lovingly cares for them. I hope some of her spirit is captured in the depiction of her loved plant life.
