About The Artwork
I painted this piece on an important anniversary. It depicts a wildly blooming vase of flowers, growing up and through and around each other in a beautifully chaotic tangle. The background is deep velvety black with patches of rich blue showing through in places. The blossoms are painted in vibrant reds and oranges with a smattering of blue, white neon pink and purple to add contrast. Leaves range from a mid-range blue green, through strong forest green and an electric lime tone, with details layered onto stems, stalks and leafy flats. more greenery was added to the piece after painting, with scratchy crayon work. The neck of a vase is visible at the very base of the painting, in a paler blue with a floral trellis pattern.
