About The Artwork

This is an oil painting of a photograph I snapped from a movie on a TV screen. Here, a tightly cropped face pressed against a tiled wall adds a heightend sense of drama to the canvas. The scene in the movie was a man stressed out and upset about a serious situation and leaned his face into the bathroom wall out of frustration trying to overcome the issue he has to resolve. Struggle is an old theme in art, so it's very familiar, but using a photograph of a TV screen gives it another layer, where the subtle blue hue and little glitches with reflections from the TV are included.
