I responded to the history of young women's roles and jobs in the Northwest of the USA where I reside. I created this piece as a part of the Wallpaper series referring to the red lamp houses where many women worked to entertain men. This is Isabella a madame who lived in Spokane, Washington and her brothel's building is still up. Chose a stylized form with metallic skin colors and the faded wall paper patterns as references to this physical environment.
