Mélange is one of a series of works exploring planetary change. This particular piece is on handmade paper and is made up of textured gesso which I have stained with paint and ink. The "spacial element" or ground is made using powdered graphite.

Born 1965,Northampton, UK. I am currently painting and drawing from my studio in an old shoe factory in my home town of Northampton. 1988 - I graduated with a BA (hons) in Fashion and Textiles with Business . My work experience as a textile designer includes London-based fashion and furnishing studios and the contemporary interiors company; Designers Guild. During my training as a textile designer, I developed my own style of painting, printing and drawing. Paint has always been my medium of choice. Oils are particularly preferential, as they enable me to create areas of surface texture or depth by layering and adding mediums for flow.
