About The Artwork
This painting is the latest in the geometric 20" x 20" paintings I have been working on during this difficult 2020 year of isolation and distance. My feelings seem to find their way into the final result, whether I am aware of them or not. This painting reflects a calm I had not felt in the previous weeks. The colors I chose royal blue, deep wine reds as well as the collage papers I painted reflect another epoch of heavy brocade and luxury--a time gone by. The horizontal and vertical very apparent grid made of these brocade like papers ground the piece.
