About The Artwork
This dark and somewhat ominous scene of a storm cloud just breaking over an dark and intensely pigmented landscape was inspired by my interest in energy. I began the painting during the powerful time leading up to the EU referendem. I painted what I was experiencing; a kind of crackling in the air and a feeling of building pressure. Incidentally the weather in the UK, during the day of the election, was exactly as I predicted in my work; the skies were stormy and the air was heavy with rain!

Born 1965,Northampton, UK. I am currently painting and drawing from my studio in an old shoe factory in my home town of Northampton. 1988 - I graduated with a BA (hons) in Fashion and Textiles with Business . My work experience as a textile designer includes London-based fashion and furnishing studios and the contemporary interiors company; Designers Guild. During my training as a textile designer, I developed my own style of painting, printing and drawing. Paint has always been my medium of choice. Oils are particularly preferential, as they enable me to create areas of surface texture or depth by layering and adding mediums for flow.
