About The Artwork

LOVE CONQUERS MADNESS Very, very happy to present my newest work and also the new "element" of the series: the (A) strawberry??. This work marks a new phase of the series "A Dangerous Monkey" and moves towards a very important theme: Love. It is the first (and very special!) Of two works I did with ?. In this first post, I will brush up on the concept behind this work, especially in relation to the strawberry figure. Obviously it will not be possible to say everything I would like in a post, and its relationship with other elements such as spots and bananas will be explained in greater depth in other posts. In addition, there are certain things that words cannot even describe ... that's why I ??. STRAWBERRIES ?, an introduction: Possibly the most beautiful of fruits. Its delicate heart-like shape is certainly worthy of attention and admiration. Even though they look delicate, strawberries are strong and capable of growing even in adverse locations. No wonder strawberries are very popular in countries like Japan como. There are certainly a lot of strawberry cakes out there, but in Japan it is an extremely popular Christmas tradition to make a cake covered with white cream and strawberries on top. For the Japanese, their red color in combination with white denotes good luck and happiness. In the West, in ancient Rome, it is said that strawberries were associated with peace and prosperity, as well as their supposed medicinal powers to treat depression and the like, something that persisted throughout the medieval period as well. Obviously nowadays we know a lot more about this very special fruit. Did you know that, according to my research, it is the only fruit that has seeds on the outside, about 200 on average? For sure now you will impress everyone with this wisdom hahaha. In any case, I am clearly not here to talk about the fruit itself, but rather its representation within my work and life, since these two are actually one. In the comment below I’ll give you an introduction on, since there’s not enough space here onm Instagram. A step beyond chaos and order: As I suggested at the beginning, the strawberry symbolizes this very thing ... Love, with a capital "A". Before proceeding, it is necessary to make it clear to the viewer / reader that when talking about Love, we are not talking about passion, even though this may encompass the latter. Passion may sound romantic, but unlike Love, it is a force that is often almost uncontrollable and with destructive tendencies: all or nothing. Passion surrounds the same level of chaos. We can say that Love is usually accompanied by passion, but passion is not always accompanied by Love. Even "romantic love" is only part of our lives on this plane. We will see below - very briefly - and in the next works that, in my line of reasoning, Amor is above all of that. After a lot of reflection, reading and talking about this subject, I came to the conclusion (if I can call it a conclusion) that science does not explain everything, nor religion. In a way, they are even complementary, and I would need to write, with the forgiveness of the joke, a "Bible" to talk about it, with the addition of a chapter just to distinguish religion and spirituality. Can only man (in the sense of humanity) be able to love? Do we need that answer or are we just asking the wrong questions? Realize that at this moment I distance myself somewhat from the initial idea of the Dangerous Monkey; this idea resides in the Universe of chaos and order, which symbolizes to some extent my reinterpretation of yin-yang and so many others throughout our history. Could it be the presence of the strawberry in this work and in my random life? If I can be sure, I would say no. Everything I did was heading towards it in a way, but something had to happen. It is still a bit difficult to put into words, but I will do my best on this journey. Eric
