Lost leaves Rug - Limited Edition of 1 Painting

The Arraiolos Carpet is made with "Ponto de Arraiolos", an outstretched cross stitch perfected by the seamstresses of Arraiolos, a charming village in southern Portugal. Needle work, hand embroidered on jute canvas with wool. The colors of the rug that are born from a desire to mix a dark color like this brownish green, a color that I associate with a monotonous feeling, with the romantic light pink color and a pure tone like white. The motif consists of a mixture of a leaf and a flower. The idea of the rug consists of a set of leaves lost by the wind, thus giving greater intensity to the corner of the rug and then, in a light way, spreading the colors across the rug. MADE in Portugal, 41,880 stitches were manually embroidered on this piece with a needle.
