'Lines and Colors Have No Borders' Painting

On the surface of this painting, whatever lines or colors I have applied, have no borders. For me, that means lines can remain flexible and fluid, moving, disappearing or blending into the next formation of lines and colors. In this painting, I have created a grid pattern or design in one panel that is symmetrically the opposite in the second panel. This geometric grid defines the structure of this design, and within this structure, my lines melt or disintegrate as they move along. The colors and mat medium I have applied to the different square and rectangular spaces appear to explode and become diffuse loosing their contours as they spread out and become absorbed by the flow of ink paints, and the medium that acts as a core to each occupied space, where each color bursts out, or becomes frozen in impression. It is the concept that borders or frontiers are not fixed in time and location, and that each color mass that occupies a geometric frame dissolves, but does not loose its equally unique position, personality and relationship to all the other textural, colored elements and spaces unifying the whole.
