About The Artwork
Hill End was a gold mining town 4 hours drive north west of Sydney. It has become an Artists haven, and hold many intreguing stories and personalities, least of all the kangaroos who lounge in the grassy paddocks in the town. The dirt out there is red, the skies blue and the eucalypts in the distant hills emit a blue hue. This is a part of the world saturated in vibrancy and colour. The mark making in this work is solid and colourful like the place itself, layered with story. I hope the viewer feels the fun, the joy and the energy of this land.
