Like a Cedar in Lebanon Painting

Light filters through concentrated washes of colour to create a series of spiritually atmospheric paintings. Many layers of oil paint were intuitively applied and moved across the canvas to create an evolving visual language of colour. The purpose of the size of canvases’ is to occupy the viewers personal space so there is a sense of interaction and immersion. The stillness of the paintings evokes a stillness from the viewer, re-calibrating the speed at which we visually engage with our surroundings. The meditative effects of the work reflect the meditative process in which the paintings were made.
