Once I started painting them and learning more about them, I just couldn’t stop! I most often paint the Anna’s hummingbird which lives in the Pacific Northwest year around. I was born and raised in the Netherlands but have lived in Portland Oregon USA for many, many years now. I feel fortunate to live with my family in an area surrounded by such inspiring beauty in nature. Hummingbirds radiate joy and positive energy which I strive to communicate through my colorful paintings so that people may experience more of these feelings in their home and office environments. While our world can be so challenging and complicated, my art celebrates the simple joys.
