About The Artwork
Dad’s War Project/ Air Letters This massive art project was derived from my father’s time in world war 2 in Europe. Dad took excellent photos and left me a remarkable photo album. I used these photos to create a show which included large scale oil bar drawings, photo silkscreen/paintings, and sculpture. In this painting I used an illuminated sculpture "Air Letters" that I made as a dirigible covered in lettered hankies. I had this hanging in my basement and when I started to disassemble it the imagery it created was fantastic. This is "Air Letters" as it crumbles back to the ground. A lot of my work occurs as curious visual surprises like this!
